Dealing with Emergencies Via Activated Charcoal
Very few of us stop and worry about emergencies or in particular natural disasters that cut us off from the basics of life. We take for granted that we will have resources such as water, food, and electricity. Given that for the most part we always have access to these things, very few of us actually stop to think how we would handle a situation where we lost access to such resources. Unfortunately natural disasters are an all too common occurrence whether they are from an earthquake, hurricane, tornado, wildfire, or tsunami. The reality is that with proper preparation your odds of surviving the disaster if you make it past the initial tumult should be quite high. Unfortunately though most of us are not prepared for the lack of clean resources that ensue and many deaths result from simple lack of preparation. One of the biggest such factors is lack of clean drinking water. When the tap water is no longer running it is very hard to find a source of clean water. If you are prepared and have activated charcoal filters at the ready you can use these remarkable devices to filter out any available water and you can feel confident in the safety of the water.

ACTIVATED CHARCOAL – INDIA MAKING BIG STRIDES
Activated charcoal or activate carbon has been making a lot of news in the recent times. Countries world over have been vying with each other in the production of activated charcoal and India has not lagged far behind, what with its abundant supply of raw materials, mainly available from the rural sector. Manufacture of activated charcoal is one glaring example of extracting useful product from what was considered wasteful hitherto. Activated charcoal has found use in various industries starting from water filtration to detoxification of body.
Coconut Development Board, Kerala, India, have made good progress in the field of manufacture of activated charcoal prepared from abundant supply of coconut shells, collected after using the kernel and coconut water. Initially, it started with only two units and now the strength has grown to eight units as per the claim made by a senior executive of Coconut Development Board. India has been one of major exporters of activated carbon of late and is expected to do better in the coming years. Philippines from South East Asia, was known to be the world’s leading exporter of activated charcoal, is expected to fall behind in the race very soon, owing to their shortage in supply of raw materials in the recent times. All the manufacturers in India are experiencing an increase in turnover and incidentally the exports and profits are also going to soar with an unprecedented high.
A good cooperation is needed from the raw materials supplier to ensure viability in the market and to remain a leader in the field.
